WHY STATISTICS MATTER?

ECONOMIC SECTORS
There are three economic sectors which represent the type of business activity being performed. Similar to an assembly the Primary Sector is extracting natural resources from the ground and ensuring the Secondary Sector has a continuous supply of raw materials. The Secondary Sector is the industry sector where supply-and-demand meet in the middle. The Tertiary Sector is arguably the most important economic sector as everything relies on the continued consumer demand - Tertiary also includes all service jobs.
Primary Sector
The Primary Sector encompasses all industry engaged in production or extraction of natural resources such as crops, oil, and ores.

INDUSTRY
The term "industry" is any general business or commercial enterprise whose business activities are distinct. MARKETS
A market is a group (or groups) of customers who require the products and services provided by an industry. Typically the term "market" refers to anyone who could be a consumer of a specific industry's product. Markets are further grouped together through market segmentation, where smaller groups, called segments, are identified by variables such as: age, gender, education, career, religion, geography, race, or income.
Here is the list of nearly every market with an SIC classification number. As you can see there is just infinites amounts of data to be researched, analyzed, and cycled back for economic benefit. Our goal is to continue building our data mining and machine learning systems so that one day markets will auto-adjust for maximum production, minimized waste and greater access to resources worldwide. We've only begun to scratch the surface of our vision to build a better world but we believe it begins with better resource management and a deeper understanding of economic cause-and-effect.

STATISTICS
Statistics serve as both a science and a branch of mathematics used to interpret aggregates of data too large to be intelligible through ordinary observation. We begin our process with a collecting of data, often organized further through classification, we then "analyze" the data or in a more literal sense the data presents us with numerical facts. Finally, taking into consideration the margin for error, we establish (through inference) a quantifiable likelihood (or probability) that the remaining data will behave in the same predictable manner.
A data set is organized into some type of data structure. In a database, for example, a data set might contain a baseball players career stats, movie box office earnings, or just trivial facts. This is where real world, verified single topic data is archived for the soul purpose of looking into the past for a split second.
